be confused with terms “CRC” (Child Registration Certificate) and “Birth

difference between CRC and Birth Certificate:-

Birth Certificate is not
directly issued by NADRA. Rather, same is issued by Union
Council, Cantonment Board, CDA depending on the residence/birth of child. Though, in Birth
Certificate there is a logo or NADRA word written but actually it is not
directly issued by NADRA. Union Council etc uses only software of
NADRA and NADRA can verify such birth certificates. |

CRC is an identification
document, which contains information of all the children of a family
who whose ages are below 18 years just in just one CRC. |
Birth Certificate contains
information about only one child like his name, father name, mother
name, date of birth etc. |

CRC contains identity
number of each child. On attaining the age of 18 years, each child will
be issued Identity Card with same identity number as mentioned on CRC. |
Birth Certificate does
not contain Identity number like CRC. |

CRC NADRA is applied after
issuance of Birth Certificate |
Birth Certificate is
applied before issuance of CRC. |

To apply for CRC from
NADRA, the parents of child are required to produce Birth Certificate of
child issued by Union Council or Cantonment Board etc Or Affidavit from Midwife,
where child’s birth took place at home. |
To apply for Birth
Certificate from Union Council or Cantonment Board or CDA, parents of child
are required to produce Birth Certificate/ Letter issued by Hospital where
child’s birth took place. |
