NADRA Marriage Certificate 2023 |
Before explaining
the procedure for obtaining marriage certificate, I would like to clarify the various
confusing terms which are used in routine when talking about marriage
certificate. These terms are (1) Manual Marriage Certificate (2) Computerized
Marriage Certificate (3) NADRA computerized Marriage Certificate (4) Marriage
Registration Certificate (5) MRC (6) NADRA Marriage Certificate (7)
Marriage Registration Certificate Union Council.
Except, Manual
Marriage Certificate, all the following
documents/terms (1) Computerized Marriage Certificate (2) NADRA
computerized Marriage Certificate (3) Marriage Registration Certificate (4)
MRC (5) NADRA Marriage Certificate (6) Marriage Registration
Certificate Union Council refer to same document and these terms can be spoken
interchangeably. This NADRA marriage certificate is issued by Union Council or
Cantonment Board and not by NADRA.
Many people might
be in confusion that a NADRA Marriage Certificate is issued by NADRA only and applicant
should visit NADRA office for issuance of NADRA marriage certificate but it is
not correct.
For obtaining
NADRA marriage certificate, you are not required to approach the NADRA office instead you have
to visit the concerned Union Council or
Cantonment Board.
The word NADRA
is used for marriage certificate for the reason that there is a link between
NADRA and union councils/ cantonment board for issuance of NADRA marriage
certificate. NADRA does not directly issue marriage certificate instead Union
Council/Cantonment Board issue NADRA
marriage certificate through the software developed by and linked with NADRA.
Union Council or Cantonment Board - Where to approach for NADRA Marriage Certificate
If your Nikah has been performed within the area falls within the jurisdiction
of Union Council, you should approach to your concerned Union Council for
issuance of NADRA marriage certificate.
If your Nikah has been performed
within the area falls within the jurisdiction of Union Council,
you should approach to your concerned Union Council for issuance of NADRA
marriage certificate.
However, if your Nikah has
been performed within the area falls
within the jurisdiction of Cantonment Board, you should approach to your
concerned Cantonment Board office for issuance of NADRA Marriage Certificate.
Documents required for NADRA Marriage Certificate
- Manual Marriage Certificate / Nikah Nama (usually in urdu language) - Attested
- Copies of CNICs of Bridegroom and Bride. --Attested
- Copies of CNICs of fathers of Bridegroom and Bride.
- Filled Marriage Registration Form (Click here for UnionCouncil Marriage Registration Form or Click here for CantonmentBoard Marriage Registration Form)
Note: You may
have to fill up the Marriage Registration Form issued by concerned Union
Council or Cantonment Board and get it attested from Nikah Registrar/
Arbitration Council etc.
Fee for
Marriage Registration Certificate
Fee for
marriage registration certificate may change from time to time but as an
estimate, you may be charged Rs. 300/- to Rs. 500/- for obtaining NADRA Marriage
Certificate/Computerized Marriage Certificate.
NADRA Marriage Registration Certificate Online
Currently, there
is no facility available, by which, you can apply for NADRA marriage
certificate online, pay the prescribed fee online and NADRA marriage
certificate is delivered at your door
step.
To obtain NADRA
marriage registration certificate, the applicant or his legally appointed representative
must have to approach to the Union Council or Cantonment Board personally at
least one or two times.
Your Nikah
Registrar, who got your manual Nikah Nama registered can also get NADRA
marriage certificate on your behalf.
How to verify NADRA Marriage Certificate online?
NADRA or
Union Council or Cantonment Board does not provide any facility for general people to
verify any marriage certificate online.
To check the
authenticity or to verify any marriage certificate, concerned offices must be
visited personally or through appointed person.
