1.    What is Juvenile Card NADRA?

  

Just like other Identity Documents like CNIC, SNIC, NICOP etc, Juvenile Card is also an identity document but same is designed for only children under 18 years of age. Any one whose age is above 18 years, is not eligible to apply for Juvenile Card. Such persons are eligible to apply for CNIC (computerized National Identity Card) or SNIC (computerized National Identity Card) or any other identity document of  their choice or need.  

 

Other names which are used in alternate to Juvenile Card are (1) Smart Card for children (2) Minor's Card. 

 

Juvenile Card is a chip-based card, which contains a of information like name, father name, identity number, photo etc. Besides, another thing which is mentioned in Juvenile Card is "Under 18 "


Though, a  Child Registration Certificate is also a document which provide identity to the children of a family but this document does not contain much information as compare to Juvenile Card. Besides, some departments accepts only Juvenile Card  and not the Child Registration Certificate.   


2.    Juvenile Card uses?

 

As I mentioned above, that Juvenile Card is an identity document just like others. So, to provide the identity of a child under 18 years old, this Juvenile Card can be produced anywhere as an  identity document.

 

You can produce a Juvenile Card for opening a taking admission in  school or educational institution, to appear in exams or any other forum where  Child Registration Certificate is not acceptable.

 

3.    Juvenile Card fee and its processing time?

 

Juvenile Card fee depends on which category/ priority  you have applied like Normal, Urgent or Fast Track. Following is the detail of fee according to the priority of application.

4.    Documents Required for issuance of Juvenile Card? 

 

The documents requirement or other requirement for issuance of Juvenile Card depends on whether the minor (whose Juvenile Card is required to be obtained) holds Child Registration Certificate (CRC) or not.  Following are the  documents required for Juvenile Card.

 

Documents required and other Requirements (If minor is not holder of CRC) 

  1. Personal appearance of minor in NADRA's office.
  2. Personal appearance of minor's one of the parents or guardian in NADRA's office along with CNIC.
  3. Biometric Verification by Parent or the Guardian whatever the case may be or Attestation of CNICF
  4. Birth Certificate (verified)

 

Documents required and other Requirements (If minor is already holding CRC)

 

  1. Personal appearance of minor in NADRA's office.
  2. Personal appearance of minor's  any of the parents or blood relative in NADRA's office.
  3. Biometric Verification by the Parents or Blood Relative (less spouse) or Guardian or Attestation of CNICF.
  4. Original CRC.
  5. School Certificate or Student Card (for students)


 

5.    Age Requirement for Juvenile Card?

 

As I have already discussed above that Juvenile Card only minors below the age of 18 years, so anyone whose age is less than 18 years can apply for Juvenile Card.

 

6.    Online applying for Juvenile Card?

 

Currently, NADRA does not provide any facility for applying  Juvenile Card online. To apply for Juvenile Card, minor and concerned person detailed above must visit the NADRA office personally.

 

7.    Where you can apply for Juvenile Card?

The minor whose Juvenile Card is required to be applied, along with his parent or guardian should visit the NADRA office concerned.

 

8.    Procedure for Juvenile Card?

In NADRA office, Juvenile Card Procedure requires several steps to be taken:- 

  1. Issuance of Token.
  2. Capturing of Photograph of minor
  3. Taking of fingerprints and signatures.
  4. Relevant Entries by the NADRA officials.
  5. Printing and delivering of form by NADRA staff.
  6. Reviewing of form by the parties concerned.
  7. Attestation of form by blood relative  like father, mother,  brother or sister) or by any Gazetted officer.

 

9.    Juvenile Card validity?

 

Juvenile Card is designed and restricted to only children under 18 years old. So, if a minor has obtained Juvenile Card, such Juvenile Card will remain valid till Juvenile Card holder reaches the age of majority i.e 18 years old or the date of expiry mentioned on JC.

 

After the age of 18 years,  they can apply for CNIC or SNIC because  their Juvenile Card are no more valid for them.
