Iris NADRA benefits 2023 |
NADRA is much active in collecting
and storing the data for the purpose of verification and identification. The
data stored in NADRA's record can be utilized for verification and
identification purpose.
In 2002, when NADRA started issuing CNIC, finger prints of applicants
were taken on forms as there was not digital system of fingerprint verification
available at that time.
Later, NADRA started digital fingerprint verification and
fingerprints of citizens were taken through biometric devices.
Later, facial verification system was also initiated by
NADRA. Hence fingerprints verification and facial verification system worked
together.
Now to improve accuracy and reliability in verification and
identification, NADRA has stepped forward and introduced Iris recognition system.
Before explaining the benefits of Iris, I would like to
explain what iris is. Iris is actually part of human eye, which is coloured and
ring shaped structured, in which pupil exists.
Hence you can say that Iris Recognition biometric
technology involves the process of identifying, collecting data of eyes.
Benefits/Qualities of Iris Recognition System
- Uniqueness and stability The pattern of the iris,
known as the iris texture or iris print, which is highly stable and remains
largely unchanged throughout a person's lifetime, hence this technology can be
used on long term basis.
- Resistance
to forgery: It is less likely to
get success in an attempt to make forgery in iris, hence its is believed to be
more reliable.
- Just only
identity: It is the responsibility of NADRA not to give a each person a
unique identity. Having multiple identifies or identity number is not allowed
by NADRA. Iris recognition system will help in detecting any attempt by an
individual for obtaining two more than two identities
- Smart card for children: For processing smart charge for children, no
finger prints are captured by NDARA just facial verification system applies to
such children. But now with the help of Iris recognition system, NADRA will gather
data of iris of children who are 4 years old or more.
- Many more.
